Bhindi Fry Recipe – Crispy Okra Sabzi for Roti or Rice

 Short Description

 Bhindi Fry is a simple, tasty Indian side dish made by stir-frying okra with basic spices. It’s crispy, non-   sticky, and perfect for lunch or dinner with roti or dal-chawal.











🧾 Ingredients:

  • 250g bhindi (okra/ladyfinger)

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

  • 1 green chili (slit)

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)


👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Wash & Dry Bhindi:

    • Wash bhindi and pat completely dry with a cloth.

    • Cut into thin, uniform round slices.

  2. Start the Frying:

    • Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.

    • Once they splutter, add green chili.

  3. Add Bhindi & Spices:

    • Add sliced bhindi and sauté on medium flame for 5–7 minutes.

    • Now add turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.

  4. Cook Until Crisp:

    • Keep stirring occasionally until bhindi becomes slightly crisp and dry.

    • Turn off heat and add lemon juice if using.


🍽️ Serve With:

  • Chapati

  • Dal rice

  • Curd rice
