🍒 Eggless Black Forest Cake – Bakery Style with Cherries & Cream

The Black Forest cake, originally from Germany, is loved worldwide for its layers of chocolate sponge, whipped cream, and cherries. Our eggless version captures that same classic flavour — without any eggs! Soft chocolate cake, fresh cream, and juicy cherries make it perfect for birthdays and special celebrations.













🧾 Ingredients:

🧁 For the Chocolate Sponge:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • ½ cup curd (yogurt)

  • ½ cup milk

  • ¼ cup oil or butter

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • 1 tsp vinegar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

🍰 For Assembly:

  • 1½ cups whipped cream (chilled & beaten)

  • ½ cup cherry syrup or sugar syrup

  • 1 cup chopped cherries or canned cherries

  • Chocolate shavings or grated dark chocolate


👩‍🍳 Steps:

For Cake:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line cake tins.

  2. Mix curd, sugar, oil, milk, vanilla, and vinegar.

  3. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt.

  4. Combine wet and dry mixtures to form batter.

  5. Pour into tins and bake 30–35 mins. Cool completely.

For Assembly:

  1. Slice cake into two layers. Soak with cherry syrup.

  2. Spread whipped cream and cherries between layers.

  3. Cover entire cake with cream. Decorate with chocolate shavings & whole cherries on to
