Chocolate cake was first made in the 18th century when bakers began adding cocoa to traditional cake batter. Today, it’s a global favourite. This eggless version is rich, fudgy, and melts in the mouth — perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or whenever those chocolate cravings hit!
🧾 Ingredients:

1½ cups all-purpose flour (maida)

¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup powdered sugar
-
½ cup curd (plain yogurt)
-
½ cup milk
-
¼ cup oil (or melted butter)

1 tsp baking soda
-
½ tsp baking powder
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 tsp vinegar or lemon juice
-
A pinch of salt
👩🍳 Steps:

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a cake pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together curd, sugar, milk, oil, and vanilla.

Add vinegar, mix, and let it rest for 5 minutes.

In a separate bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually fold dry mix into the wet ingredients.

Stir until smooth and pour into the cake pan.

Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool, unmould, and decorate with chocolate ganache or dusted sugar
