🧄 Garlic Naan Recipe – Soft & Fluffy Without Tandoor

Learn how to make soft, buttery Garlic Naan at home without a tandoor! This recipe uses a regular pan (tawa) and comes out just like a restaurant — perfect with Paneer Butter Masala or Veg Kolhapuri!








🧾 Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (maida)

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ cup curd (yogurt)

  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee

  • Salt to taste

  • Warm water (to knead)

  • Extra flour (for rolling)

For Topping:

  • 4–5 garlic cloves (finely chopped)

  • Fresh coriander (chopped)

  • Butter or ghee (for brushing)


👨‍🍳 Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

  2. Add curd and oil. Mix.

  3. Slowly add warm water and knead into a soft dough.

  4. Cover with a cloth and rest for 1–2 hours.


Step 2: Roll the Naan

  1. Divide dough into balls.

  2. Dust with flour and roll into oval or round shape.

  3. Sprinkle garlic and coriander on top, press gently.


Step 3: Cook on Tawa (Pan)

  1. Heat a tawa (iron or non-stick).

  2. Place naan (garlic side up) on hot tawa.

  3. Once bubbles appear, flip it and cook both sides until golden brown spots appear.

  4. Brush with melted butter or ghee.
